Lab 4: Combining Pieces

In this lab, we used JES to take a picture of us, in front of a constant background and a green screen, and to transport us into another location. We also used JES to blend two pictures together.

First, I'll show you the result of taking a picture of just a background, a picture of myself with that same background, and a picture of the moon's surface to transport me to a moon-like building!

Just a background. Now add me to that same background.

Now, using the program in JES, watch as I get transported to a moon-building, by taking the pixels that are the same in the two pictures, and replacing them with this image of the moon.

Presto!

The results are slightly pixellated, and this could be due to the natural lighting change of the background, and the windows stayed the same because of this, as well.

Now, watch me and a cow in front of a green screen get transported to the jungle, in front of a waterfall!

That cow knows the secret to teleportation, or something.

Next, we blended two images together. I blended the image of me in front of a background with the surface of the moon. To do this, we took the two separate images, and took 50% of the pixels from the right and left pictures in the blended part of the image. You can see the original images above, and the result below was pretty cool.
