In
this lab, we experimented in sound manipulation. We increased/decreased
the volume of a sound, made a sound play loud, and then soft, within
the range of the sound, we made the sound play backwards, doubled the
frequency, and halved the frequency, as well.
To show these
effects, I used the sound of a man saying "This is a test". This sound
is below, and is the original sound used for each of these
manipulations.
Original soundFirst, let's hear how it sounds when the volume of the sound is increased. The modified sound will be louder than the first.Original soundSound with increased volumeNext, let's hear the sound when we make the original sound soft, then loud.Original soundSound that is louder for the first half, and quieter for the second half. Now,
let's see what happens when we play the sound backwards. "This is a
test" becomes "tset a si sihT", at least, when it's written. Let's hear
it.Original soundBackwards SoundFinally,
see what happens when we change the frequency. Doubling the frequency
will make the sound play twice as fast, and halving it will make it
play twice as slow.Original soundSound with doubled frequencySound with halved frequencyThere you have it!
