KALAMAZOO - The Kalamazoo College football team lost 36-26
to Albion at Waldo Stadium on Saturday, Oct. 1. The Hornets
led 20-19 at halftime, but fell behind by 16 (36-20) with
5:14 left in the game. Kalamazoo scored with 2:58 left to
make it 36-26, but the Britons recovered the onside kick and
ran out the clock for the win.
Albion gained 579 yards of total offense (434 pass, 145 rush)
to Kalamazoo's 317 yards (247 pass, 70 rush).
Nick Jones was 20-of-35 passing for 235 yards with three
touchdowns and two interceptions.
Mikael Lott had seven catches for 88 yards and two touchdowns.
Josh Wise had five catches for 50 yards and a touchdown.
Dimeko Price had 44 yards rushing on 20 carries and 43 yards
receiving on five catches. Dan Grost had 20 yards rushing
on four carries including an 18-yard touchdown run.
Connor Rzeznik and John Heitchue each had nine tackles on
defense. Alan Mencer had two tackles for loss, two forced
fumbles, and a quarterback sack. Adam Powers and Jake Schell
each had an interception, while Schell also had three tackles
for loss.
Kalamazoo (3-2, 0-1 MIAA) returns to action next Saturday,
Oct. 8 with a 7 p.m. game at Hope.
