At its fall meeting (October 16) the Kalamazoo College Board of Trustees expressed its support and enthusiasm for the renovation of the Angell Field Athletic Complex and for continued planning for a new fitness center and natatorium. The board voted to pursue the bond financing that will provide partial support for these projects. Completion of the projects will also require fund raising. The College anticipates that the Angell Field renovation will begin, contingent on city zoning approval and full funding, next spring (2011). That project is expected to take 13 months. The cost of the Angell Field/Fieldhouse project is estimated at $16 million. The College will begin concept design planning for the fitness center and natatorium later this year.
