Before you enroll in Physics 150, you should complete the online math skills check. These checks are a set of multiple choice questions covering basic mathematical skills which we will use during the class. The checks cover algebra and geometry and some basic calculus. A calculus based text will be used in the course, and some calculus will be used in the course in the context of doing physics. The checks are meant to give you feedback on your mathematical preparation for Physics 150-152, and to provide the Physics Department statistical information to help us improve the introductory physics sequence. They do NOT influence your grade in the class in any way. You can use the "write to" link below to ask questions or set up an appointment to discuss any aspect of these checks. |

Instructions: Click on BEGIN to start. Be sure to enter your name at the top of the form. You may use scrap paper, a calculator, or even a math book as you answer the questions. When you have answered all the questions AND PROVIDED YOUR NAME, click on the submit button at the bottom of the screen. Your score will be sent to the Physics Department for our records. In addition, you will receive your score and our recommendation concerning your math background for the class.
